This is a Notice of Intent to issue DE-FOA-0003109 titled Inflation Reduction Act - Mitigating Emissions from Marginal Conventional Wells DISCLAIMER - This Notice of Intent is for informational purposes only and Department of Energy is not seeking comments on the information contained in the notice. The United States Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory intends to issue an Administrative and Legal Requirements Document on behalf of the Department of Energy Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management and in collaboration with the United States Environmental Protection Agency titled Inflation Reduction Act - Mitigating Emissions from Marginal Conventional Wells Department of Energy is partnering with Environmental Protection Agency to make funds available to States for the purpose of working with operators to voluntarily and permanently plug marginal conventional wells on non-Federal lands, supporting environmental restoration of the well pad, and enhancing industry and States capacities to monitor methane and other air pollutants from wells. If released, this ALRD is expected to make available up to $350 million for financial assistance in the form of grants to States via a formula. National Energy Technology Laboratory anticipates issuing the Administrative and Legal Requirements Document in August 2023 with an application availability period of 30 days. The Administrative and Legal Requirements Document will be funded by the Clean Air Act, as amended by the Inflation Reduction Act
