Opportunity: Upgrades to Axio Observer Z.1 inverted Microscope

Description

NIDCR is in the process of upgrading a spinning disk system to meet the researchers imaging requirements. This includes 1) upgrading an XY stage to a version with linear encoders to provide precise and repeatable localization of samples, 2) adding a Z piezo Z-stage to allow repeatable and rapid localization of samples in three dimensions, 3) purchasing of a 100X 1.25 NA objective to reduce spherical aberrations associated with imaging three dimensions, 4) Purchasing of a high sensitivity back illuminated CMOS camera, 5) upgrade ASI observer stage rotary encoder, 6) upgrade ASI stage slide holder, 7) upgrade ASI PZ2500 piezo Stage top plate and 8) a larger air table to properly stabilize the optical components associated with the confocal system. The confocal system will be integrated onto a Zeiss microscope body (NIH # 01772284) we currently have
