Opportunity: Preventative Maintenance Contract on 2 Luminex ins

Description 

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Luminex Corporation, Inc., 12212 Technology Boulevard, Austin, TX 78727-6115 to provide Preventative Maintenance Service for the Luminex MAGPIX and Luminex LX200 systems. The EPA laboratory at Cincinnati, OH has been equipped with the Luminex systems. This equipment supports the Office of Research and Development's (ORD) National Exposure Research Laboratory¿s human exposure and infection research work. The service plan includes replacement of the following parts on the MAGPIX instrument: Syringe, 500 µL Ball end with Teflon Seal, Tubing Sample-to-Valve, and Drive fluid filter; Replacement of the following parts on the LX200 instrument include: Air intake filter on the analyzer, Air intake filter on the XY platform, Syringe Teflon Cap, including o-ring, Sheath Filter, Orange/Blue Quick Disconnect, Sample Loop Tubing, 50-inch, Sample Arm Tubing, 5-inch, and Peek Tubing. The Contractor shall provide unlimited visits for emergency repair. The Contractor shall provide telephone and online support 24/7. The circumstances permitting ¿Soliciting from a Single Source¿ at this time is FAR 13.106-1(2)(b). The anticipated period of performance is 12 months. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required maintenance agreement may submit a written qualifications statement which fully explains their capabilities within 5 days from the date of this announcement and provide itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation is available. Consequently, any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead chooses to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the statement of work or more information about the project will not be considered. The information received to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
