Opportunity: IT SUPPORT FOR SFCN

The National Park Service, Southeast Region intends to award a base and four option period Firm Fixed price contract for telephonic and network LAN/WAN support services to the FLACO offices of the South Florida Caribbean Network located at 18001 Old Cutler Road, Miami FL 33157. The Florida and Caribbean Office of the National Park Service (FLACO) provides support for the Florida/Caribbean Exotic Plant Management Team and the South Florida/Caribbean Inventory and Monitoring Network (SFCN) staff based in Miami, Florida. This office is leased space within a private office building. The FLACO office needs both telephonic and network LAN/WAN support at this facility, but does not have the internal capacity to manage these resources. This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source. The determination to select 4IT, Inc. for the support services is that they are only one of two companies authorized to provided services in the FLACO Offices. 4IT, Inc. already has the fiber optic connections to the offices, it would be cost prohibitive for NPS and any new company to come in and provide the services. The FLACO staff has decided to use Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology to connect from the FLACO office to both SERO and VIIS servers for connectivity to the NPS internet and intranet. Limited FLACO office space and the lack of a climate control area prohibited the use of a server in the FLACO suite. 4IT has provided FLACO staff the ability to make the server and Tape Backup unit available onsite for file recovery and server configuration, while at the same time providing professional support, 24/7 climate control with back-up power via UPS and generator with minimal cost to the program. 4IT has been providing this service for the last seven years. It is in the Governments best interest to maintain services with the incumbent. NAICS Code: 541519, Other Computer Related Services, Standard business size is $27.5. The National Park Service is presently using FEDBIZOPPS to issue synopsis for Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Justifications and Sources Sought. The synopsis may be viewed online at: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Fedbizopps will be the only means of obtaining the amendments and will be able to receive electronic notification of solicitations and awards. CAUTION: This synposis will be issued electronically as will any amendments. The Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidder's list. It is incumbent for any interested parties to obtain any amendments which may be issued.
