PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE is amended to add Addendum (minor change in hatch specs) and Site Visit Agenda/Sign-In docs. A walk-thru of site of work was conducted, and NPS representative gave a general overview of the work covered by the plans and specs and emphasize the importance of permits from the COE and LA Health Office, as well as having an accurate construction schedule. RFP to be released on or about 28 JUL 2020. UPGRADE WASTEWATER SYSTEM AT CHALMETTE Project Location: Chalmette National Cemetery and Battlefield, 8606 W St Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA, 70043. SCOPE: The Work includes construction of two new wastewater treatment systems and demolition associated with the existing wastewater treatment system. A single prime contract is anticipated to have installed, made completely operational and state permitted two (2) new wastewater treatment package plants to replace the one existing temporary package plant. One plant shall be placed on the cemetery side of the park unit within proximity to the existing lift station and the other plant shall be placed on the battlefield side of the park unit in proximity to the existing comfort station. These new package plant units shall be installed below grade to minimize the adverse visual impact to the National Battlefield and Cemetery. It is also the intent of this project that the existing park owned temporary package plant be removed and disposed of properly. All participants must practice social distancing. Wearing of masks (face covering) is not optional (mandated by State of Louisiana) and will be enforced. The purpose of the Preproposal Conference is to allow the exchanging of information to improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities, thereby allowing potential offerors to judge whether or how they can satisfy the Government¿s requirements, and enhancing the Government¿s ability to obtain quality supplies and services, including construction, at reasonable prices, and increase efficiency in proposal preparation, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and contract award. ENTRANCE GATES TO CHALMETTE BATTLEFIELD AND CHALMETTE NATIONAL CEMETERY GROUNDS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on federal holidays). PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO THE GROUNDS IS AVAILABLE AT ANY TIME. THE VISITOR CENTER AND RESTROOMS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 SAFETY CONCERNS. NO RE-OPENING DATE HAS BEEN DETERMINED.
