Opportunity: Intent to Sole Source Song Meter SMR Acoustic Recorder

Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Joint Administrative Operations, intends to procure twenty five (25) Song Meter SM4 Acoustic Recorder with stereo microphone devices, manufactured and sold by Wildlife Acoustics, Maynard, MA 01745, DUNS# 602896403. The Song Meter SM4s have a number of capabilities that are key for Houston toad detection. The microphones are a new generation of microphones that reduce background noise making it easier to identify toad calls. The large storage capacity of the song meters along with the energy saving mode allow for prolonged periods of deployment. Longer periods of deployment is important because the Houston toad survey season is from January to June which help surveyors not have to change song meters frequently. The equipment can operate in adverse weather and environments. The procurement will be processed in accordance with FAR Part 13 due to other FWS entities already utilizing equipment and unique desired functionality that can be obtained at cost savings. This is not a request for quotations or proposals and this announcement may constitute the only notice regarding this procurement action. For questions related to this procurement action, please contact Lisa Rodriguez, Contracting specialist at lisa_rodriguez@fws.gov by 09/06/2019, 2pm MT.
