Opportunity: TEXAS POROSITY/PERMEABILITY MEASUREMENTS

Description

Amendment 0002. The purpose of Amendment 0002 is to answer Questions/comments 01 from the marketplace. QUESTION/COMMENTS 01: I'm assuming that since these samples are coming from an aquifer that the brine salinity is pretty fresh? I didn¿t notice any mention of extracting the plugs prior to making the permeability and porosity measurements so wanted to confirm. Since these samples need to be handled carefully, we might be able to just oven dry them if the brine is fresh. ANSWER 01: The cores that would be submitted for porisity and permeability analyses does not exceed 1996 EPA primary drinking-water standards (MCLs) for analyzed constituents and the aquifer in this area has relatively low total dissolved solid (TDS) concentrations (salinity). Wells to the south do have higher tds. Therefore, the waters in the drillholes are relatively fresh and the samples can be oven dried. Amendment 0001. This Solicitation Notice is to announce the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has a requirement to provide petrophysical analyses services to measure both porosity and permeability using gas-injection porosimetry (also called gas expansion), in accordance with the FedConnect solicitation. The solicitation reference number is 140G0218R0049 and is being issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) at www.fedconnect.net. The policies contained in FAR Part 13, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for solicitation evaluation and award prescribed in Part 15, as appropriate, shall be used for this acquisition.
