Opportunity: Radiometric and standard AMS service

The United States Geological Survey intends to award a non-competitive purchase order in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items, to Beta Analytics, Miami, FL for radiometric and standard AMS service to be delivered to USGS MD/DE/DC Water Science Center. The period of performance is 8/1/19 to 4/30/20. There are no option periods. Beta Analytic Radiocarbon dating of samples from this diverse suite of sediment cores requires the ability to provide standard radiometric dating for large samples, extended counting for samples of marginal size, and AMS dating of extremely small samples. It also required determination of carbon isotopic ratios for calibration of sample dates to calendar years. Because interpretation of results relies upon the dates, it is important to obtain dates within reasonable time frames (less than 30 business days); and in some cases, even more rapid turn-around (2-3 days), which must be completed by 4/30/19. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation no later than 7/30/2019 which shall be considered by the agency. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.
