Description 

Amendment 0001 CHILLER REPLACEMENT: The Great Plains Nature Center is a cooperative project between the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism, City of Wichita and Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center. The 23,000 square foot facility provides opportunities for the public to investigate, understand and develop an appreciation for wildlife and the environment, especially the wildlife and plant species, of the Great Plains Region. The HVAC components serving this facility, as described in this package, have reached the end of their useful life and are being replaced. The contract documents include construction drawings showing the removal of existing air-cooled chiller, hydronic pumps, hydronic specialties and air handler three-way control valves. The installation of a new air-cooled chiller, hydronic pumps, hydronic specialties and air handler two-way control valves. The contract documents also show HVAC controls upgrades for the central plant system and installation of emergency chiller connections. The construction magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000; with a budget toward the lower range of the magnitude.
