Opportunity: Brognard LZK PROTACs

Description

The Chemistry and Synthesis Center (CSC) was initiated in the incubator space of the Common Fund and has transitioned to the intramural program of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. It is dedicated to the production of new chemical tools for the intramural NIH research community. CSC is administered by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute for the benefit of the entire community of intramural NIH scientists, and is already working on projects for requesting scientists from more than a dozen NIH Institutes. CSC recently expanded our offerings to include design and synthesis of targeted degraders (e.g. PROTACs), but we are limited to warheads (E3 ligase binders) that are the intellectual property of other entities. Our own proprietary warhead would enable many projects, and modeling has suggested four high-interest structures that could fulfil this role. However, synthesis of these targets will be time-intensive and detract from other projects. We propose to use designated compound development funds to outsource these syntheses.
