NOTICE OF INTENT FOR SOLE SOURCE-LV METRO POLICE DEPT THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION - This posting serves as notification of the government's intent to issue a sole source purchase order. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Nevada State Office, intends to award a sole source purchase order to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for Law Enforcement Support Services for the BLM Southern Nevada District Office (SNDO). The BLM SNDO is in need of specialized law enforcement support to provide for public health and safety and efficient law enforcement response to significant incidents on public land. The services requested by the BLM are of an extraordinary nature outside the scope of local law enforcement's normal and routine law enforcement activities on the public lands. The high volume of visitation from visitors who reside outside of the county represents a major impact to the local law enforcement department's normal operations. The services required are those that only a local law enforcement agency can provide. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is an independent agency and a joint city-county police force for the City of Las Vegas and Clark County, Nevada. The services are to enforce the civil and criminal laws of the State of Nevada on the public lands, waters, roads, trails, and property administered by the BLM within Clark County, Nevada. This enforcement is necessary in order to ensure the protection of persons and property on the public lands. This notice of intent is not a request for quote.
