Opportunity: Notice of Intent to Sole Source

Description 

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, intends to award a sole source Blanket Purchase Agreement under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition procedures to RUAG Ammotec USA Corporation, Tampa, Florida. This requirement is for new factory manufactured ammunition from RUAG Ammotec Corporation USA for use by Service special agents for duty ammunition and qualifications with Service pistols, shotguns and rifles. RUAG Ammotec USA is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the RWS copper Matrix NTF round. Purchasing directly from the manufacturer is to assure the ammunition meets the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute (SAAMI) specifications, is newly manufactured and is meeting the highest quality. Additionally, ordering directly from RUAG Ammotec USA, the large quantities needed to supply enough ammunition for training can only be provided from the manufacture to minimize the number of lots in case of a recall and quality. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 332992. The size standard is $1,250. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however firms with expressed interest and capability are encouraged to respond by 02/05/2018. This notice is for informational purposes only. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
