Opportunity: Platts Publication Renewal - Notice of Intent

Synopsis: The Department of Energy (DOE) intends to enter into a sole source contract with Platts/McGaw-Hill Companies, Inc. for the acquisition of electronic newsletter subscription service. Platts/McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. will provide the DOE with electronic newsletters for forty-four (44) authorized users for the following newsletters: Gas Daily Basic Service and Megawatt Daily Basic Service. These electronic publications are only published by Platts/McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. and are under copyright. The period of performance for this effort is April 2015 – April 2016 (TBD). The Government intends to negotiate solely with Platts/McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. for a firm fixed price contract for the publication referenced above. Acquisition of Commercial Items under FAR Part 12 and Simplified Acquisitions Procedures under FAR Part 13 apply. The applicable NAICS Code is 511210 and the business size standard is 500 employees. This Notice of Intent is neither a request for proposal nor a solicitation for offers and telephone calls will not be accepted. Interested sources may contact the buyer in writing. Responses to this notice must show clear and concise information and should be advantageous to both the vendor and the Government and demonstrate a bona-fide capability, as well as a copy of the license agreement with Platts/McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. granting the right to make copies to distribute the above named copyrighted publications. Any responses received will only be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in lieu of the sole source award described in this notice, and such determination shall be made at the sole discretion of the DOE. Responses are due by 3:30pm EST on March 30, 2015.
