Description 

The objective of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to solicit research and development activities that could lead to performance improvements in steam-based power cycles applicable to coal boilers. Specifically, the program is interested in research and development activities relevant to two areas of interest: (1) Advanced Manufacturing (AM) Applied to Steam Turbine Parts for Higher Efficiency and Lower Cost Steam Turbines; and (2) Conceptual Engineering Design of an Advanced Steam Turbine for Modular Megawatt-Scale Coal Combustion Power Plants.
