Opportunity: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE water treatment

Description 

The United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9, 75 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94105 intends to award a contract under FAR Part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation), to TKT Consulting, LLC, 2050 Driscoll Dr., Reno, NV 89509, for the treatment of metals-contaminated water from acid mine drainage at the Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine Superfund Site. The authority for the sole source is FAR 6.302-2 ¿ Unusual and Compelling Urgency. EPA Region 9 has an urgent need to treat metals-contaminated water at the Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine Superfund Site within the next 4-6 weeks as a preventative measure to mitigate a potential overflow of contaminated water into Clear Lake due to anticipated rainfall in the area. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting this requirement may submit a response, which if received within the open period of this announcement, will be considered. Firms must demonstrate the capability to complete treatment of the metals-contaminated water, including mobilization and demobilization, within 6 weeks. Firms should include an explanation of the type of treatment technology to be utilized. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
