Opportunity: Drilling IDIQ in Massachusetts and Rhode Island

Description

The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, New England Water Science Center has a requirement for drilling services, using both direct-push and auger methods, to collect aquifer sediment cores and install monitoring wells in coastal southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Direct-push and auger drilling are suitable drilling methods for much of this work because the aquifers or parts of aquifers of greatest interest are unconsolidated sandy deposits, depths of investigation are mostly less than 100 feet below land surface, and minimal use of drilling fluids (potable water) is strongly preferred. The work will be part of several studies by the USGS of the hydrogeology and groundwater resources in unconsolidated sandy glacial aquifers and associated alluvium. Because the location, scope, and timing of the studies are uncertain, one or more blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) will be used to obtain the services. The BPA period of performance will be 3-years or 5-years after date of award. Quotes are being requested under Request for Quotes (RFQ) 140G0120Q0137, which will be posted at Fedbizopps.gov and FedConnect.net on or about 05/18/2020. Interested vendors are responsible for monitoring the posting sites for the release of the RFQ and amendments (if any). A statement of work and other project information is not available for release at this time. No further information regarding the project is currently available; further details will be provided in the RFQ when it is issued. Quotes will be due on/about 06/05/2020 (exact date/time to be provided in the RFQ). The NAICS code is 213115 with a small business size standard of $8.0 mil. This RFQ will be set aside for small business.
