Opportunity: Intent to Sole Source : warranty for Eaton UPS eq

Description 

The United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9, 75 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco, CA 94105 intends to award a Sole Source purchase order under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Eaton Corporation, 1676 N California Blvd #460, MO, Walnut Creek, CA 94596. This requirement is for the acquisition of warranty of 2 ¿Eaton 9390-100-160, VRLA Sealed 64¿ UPS equipment units located at EPA Region 9, 75 Hawthorne Street, San Francisco CA 94105. This provides power for the Data Center, Future Emergency Operations Center as well as each of the IDF closets on each floor. This covers all parts, upgrades, software changes, as well as a major preventative maintenance visit where the units will be placed in bypass mode one at a time and a through inspected as well as a battery inspection. This visit would be performed after hours or on a weekend. This also includes a second visit each year to do a minor inspection and look at the batteries. Each unit has 64 batteries, so there are 128 all-together. U.S. EPA is requesting warranty services for approximately 3 years. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE AND NO SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED. EPA believes Eaton Corporation is the only source that can provide the specified warranty services to U.S. EPA, Region 9. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required services should fully explain their capabilities and qualifications in writing within 10 days from the date of this announcement. The documentation provided must include sufficient detail to make a determination that competition is feasible. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation is available. Consequently, anyone failing to provide the aforementioned and instead submits only a routine or standard letter requesting a copy of the statement of work, or provides only basic corporate information will not be considered. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
