Description 

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Falls Church, VA intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition procedures to World Resources Institute, Washington, DC. This requirement is for a technical expert on the development of technology to identify timber species, which can then be applied in the field by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to combat the illegal timber trade in collaboration with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Forensics Laboratory. World Resources Institute has extensive expertise on illegal logging and the associated trade and has a track record of catalyzing cutting-edge technology to solve environmental problems. World Resources Institute is experience in natural resource management and particularly in timber legality, illegal logging and the facilitation between the public and private sectors. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 541990. The size standard is $15 Million. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however firms with expressed interest and capability are encouraged to respond by 01/30/2017. This notice is for informational purposes only. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
