Opportunity: FBO announcement for sole source

Description 

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive, firm fixed price Contract to Geospace Technologies for upgrading four existing Geospace Navigator Birds (SIN 20450, 20451, 20452, 20454) to be delivered to USGS-WHCMSC by 06/25/2018. There are no option periods: The USGS-WHCMSC is currently engaged in an extended geophysical research program along the Atlantic Continental Margin to investigate gas hydrates. The research program is a collaboration among the USGS, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Department of Energy, other federal agencies, outside research institutions and international partners. The Geospace navigator birds are critical to this investigation as they are used to properly position the multichannel seismic hydrophones during data collection. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation no later than 5/24/2018 which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
